OK friends, i have a challenge for you!
listening to the wise words of tony whitten (a proud new member of the
group), i've embarked on a mission to determine the most effective
terminology for use in climate science. as he stated "global warming"
doesn't sound very scary, in fact, it sounds kinda cozy. so in a
shameless effort to manipulate what some might call "scare tactics" i
have decided i need a great new way to talk about global warming.
global heating? environmental baking? worldwide heatwave? i'm
counting on the faithful FOGS to excersise those geographic brains!
any help would be awesome.

planet,

global,
+ how many miles above and around the planet, into the atmosphere is changing?
we are presently living in a time of dramatic changes in the atmosphere, climate and the geography of the planet, and those changes have begun to manifest in scientifically measureable ways in the arctic, antarctica, Siberia and our planets' oceans. Is that right?
"(the accelerating and forceful) geographical alterations of earth (and the atmosphere?)"
"the accelerating degradation and melting of earths protective ice" --- I like this one. The key word is protective I think.

Climate chaos? (C2); Catastrophic climate change? (C3 ); catastrophic chaos to climate change? (C4) Maybe not!

Geo-Roasting, Global Broiling, Oceanic Boiling...
Those all sound scary!!!
Actually, the pacific is soooo freaking cold that if you made it into a
hot tub I think I'd be more likely to go swimming in it.

How bout..."Bull Shit" :)

how about "year long summer syndrome" anything with
the word 'syndrome' sounds like a disease. or maybe
"global sunburnt" i hate getting sunburnt. although,
if you think about it, global warming is actually
really sweet. The world is getting a little crowded,
and so if we can heat this earth up a bit more, maybe
some folks will move to places that were once cold.
it's happened before in human history. but seriously,
who hates nice weather?
